Doreen Kalugira is the Executive Director of Women of Influence (WOI) and an Advocate of the Courts of Tanzania. With a strong background in law and economic empowerment, she is dedicated to supporting grassroots women entrepreneurs by providing legal knowledge, business skills, and access to economic opportunities.
Doreen founded Women of Influence in 2021, driven by her firsthand experiences of business failure due to a lack of skills, capital, and market access. Through WOI, she has empowered hundreds of women by helping them formalize their businesses, access financing, and leverage digital platforms for growth. She is also the force behind Kilinge Cha Sheria, a project that integrates legal and business solutions to support female entrepreneurs.
As an advocate, Doreen is passionate about access to justice, women’s rights, and economic inclusion. She works to address challenges like domestic violence, ‘sex corruption,’ and economic marginalization by equipping women with the knowledge and resources they need to thrive. Her leadership and commitment continue to drive impactful change for women in Tanzania.
